This website draws from my fourteen seasons as a federal wildland firefighter and six years as a volunteer structure firefighter. While I share my experiences honestly, I recognize they're just one perspective in a diverse field. My advice comes from my personal encounters on and off the fireline—what worked for me might not work for everyone, and that's okay. I'm not claiming to be exceptional, just offering my insights as one of many who've walked this path.

Unless otherwise noted, all information comes directly from my experience or from official sources like NWCG.org, federal job postings, and Forest Service websites (fs.usda.gov). When using official information, I present it verbatim to maintain accuracy. Any unattributed errors are entirely my responsibility.

All photographs are my own unless indicated otherwise, though some older images have uncertain origins.
